Although the picture above looks as if it were taken in a park; in reality it was taken in the backyard of Roger and Peg Dahlin's home in Baldwinsville, NY.

The Dahlin's have mastered the art of combining native flowers with their traditional favorites. Nestled  in their yard are 15 or more native species that were grown at Nodding Onion Gardens.

Queen of the Prairie - It took me three years to propagate this beautiful native plant from seed. This picture was taken in the backyard of my parent's house in Baldwinsville, NY. My father bought it at a fall close out sale for 50 cents. Ouch.

We haven't even reached the shortest day of the year yet and Roger (our New York affiliate) is already having "gardening withdrawals". Great Blue Lobelia, Wild Baptisia and Smooth Blue Asters in December?

All this with his AreoGarden and William Cullina's books.
